Charges and Conditions of Hire

We are now in a position to hire out our D'Arcy Room and small committee room at a very reasonable cost but subject, of course, to conditions of hire to which there must be strict adherence.

MONTHLY LETS PER SESSION (UP TO 4 HOURS)            £28

1        HIRER

The person signing the booking form shall be responsible for the hire charge and the cost of replacing any breakages and damage.   Please report any such damage as soon as possible to avoid any misunderstandings.


2        USE OF EQUIPMENT   

The rooms are cleaned regularly but we ask that they are left in a tidy condition.   Red fabric Chairs should not be stacked more than 3 high.   There are chairs and tables available.   Extra chairs and tables are available on request.   Tea towels are not provided.  Any electrical equipment to be PAT tested.

Where the hire charge includes use of the kitchen and equipment, if hot or cold food is to be prepared and served (other than Tea/coffee and biscuits) the persons doing so should have a basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
Any refuse generated should be removed from the premises by the Hirer.

 

3        FIRE PRECAUTIONS

During use, fire doors and exits must be unbolted and be free of obstructions.

No smoking is permitted anywhere on the premises.


4        RIGHT OF REFUSAL

The Vicar and Church Wardens reserve the right to refuse bookings which conflict with the Church’s principles.   It is unlikely, for example, that they would agree to public music and dancing, or to physical contests.
Events which involve the consumption of alcohol will require prior written approval from the Vicar and Church Wardens for each case.   If consent is given, then, if the use involves the retail sale of alcohol, the Hirer must give a Temporary Event Notice to the Maldon District Council under the Licensing Act 2003 and serve a copy of the acknowledged notice on the Church to prove the Council has so received such a Notice.


5        CLOSE OF HIRE

Hirings must be completed by 11pm unless a later time is specifically agreed when the booking is accepted and the Hirer must ensure that all heaters and lights are turned off and the premises properly locked up when the hiring ends.


6         PARKING

None available.   Use public car park opposite.


7        COPYRIGHT

The Hirer shall be responsible for all payments of copyright or performing rights arising from the use of the rooms.


PLEASE NOTE:
a)          FIRST AID KIT           
No First Aid box is provided for the Hirer’s use.
   Any accidents should be reported and recorded in accident book.
 

b)          INSURANCE
The Hirer is not covered by the Church’s Public Liability Insurance and we strongly recommend you to take out temporary cover where appropriate.
