Plough Monday on Sunday

Every year on the second Monday of January a white plough is paraded through Maldon's High Street followed by Morris Dancers with blacked out faces - it is called "Plough Monday".

On the Sunday before, a service is held at various churches in the town to ask God's blessing on the plough as a symbol of His provision for all of us and a reminder that we are only the custodians of this

planet we live on. This year it was the turn of All Saints.
